Artorder_Concept Tuesday:Tiefling in the far future...

HELLO!
It's Sunday, outside there's one of the best sun UK could have in this season and i'm still here...
This is my contribution to Artorder for this week.
I'm gonna write a detailed "making of and why" about this piece within evening...
The brief was "This week I want you to pick one of those races - elves, Deva, Tiefling, dragonborn, or this Thursdays race, and cast them far into the future. Envision the race on a planet that is suited to their physical characteristics (i.e. dwarves might be on a high G planet where their low center of gravity and stout frame would be benificial), and think about how they might evolve to fit their new environment even more. Now let's give your race technology, and the ability to travel the stars. What do they look like, their ships, their environment, their cities, their toys? How has the evolution changed the way they fight, love, worship? Are there oddities about their evolution (perhaps they never developed gunpowder or petro-based technology & everything is powered by a funny green rock...or a hamster in a running wheel)? Ask yourself a million questions, and figure out where your race ended up."
Well, i chosen Tiefling as my favourite race(the following writing doesn't pretend at all to be artistic or common-places free, is just a condensed story i've thought to help myself in the creation of Tiefling concept :
Due to increasing disorders among ohter races,Tieflings from all over the Brun continent(i used the old Mystara setting) begin to gather in small groups,to protect themselves from outside dangers and increasing racism
The biggest among this settlement is a little city called Kaalg, deeply buried in the very secret caves of the earth, not far from a dimensional gate that lead to Cocitus
In the outside world the Great Races War rages for years, the whole continent is nearly to total annihilation
Isolated from the rest of the world,(and maybe due to the proximity to the Cocitus magical source) they thrive, constantly, unaware of the surface struggles...
Year after year they develop a particular technomagical science, which highest achievement is a first prototype of a teleport engine
When they finally come back to the surface, Tieflings barely recognize the world, everything is destroyed and ruined, only few survivors wander the surface, starving for famine and afflicted by diseases
Understanding soon their new position into the world(although a little community, they're strong, higly self motivated, and owners of a superior technology, as well as one among the fews not touched by war)they started to use their skills and knowledges to improve commerce
Quite surprisingly for outsiders(or maybe due to the subtle side of their hellish nature)they don't use teleport engines for war purposes...instead...
Many many years later...
Tiefling Merchant Guild travel all over the known Universe, detaining a nearly-complete monopoly over galactic commerce
Once ruler of an empire, they come back
And bloody hell i'm still here at home!:)
Now i've to go...

ciao,
ti scrivo qui visto che non so se ti รจ arrivata la mail. Come butta? Immagino che tu sia un sacco impegnato, visto che non aggiorni il blog: ti stanno sovraccaricando al ristorante o hai trovato qualcosa di meglio?

Un salutone e speriamo di sentirci presto.
